The Creation of the Sun

This is my first AP in Stories and it and I feel like I did a great job for my first project. In class we have been taking about creation myths and how they explain how certain things in the world came to be. We had a storyteller come in an she talked to us about creation myths. We made one as a class together and it was really nice. Here is my creation myth that I made up for my Action Project.

Once upon a time on an island with no name, King Josiah was very upset that his hand made island was very cold. Since his island was so cold, his wife, Queen Khaliya, became very sick, and she needed her husband's help so that she could get well. The doctor told King Josiah that he had to name something that was very important to him so that Queen Khaliya could get better. As King Josiah is thinking about what he should name, Queen Khaliya tells her dear husband that she doesn’t like the separation that their island had from the United States. As she was telling him this, she felt a HUGE sneeze coming her way, and she knew that she couldn’t keep this sneeze in. She sneezed so hard King Josiah’s island moved across space and turned into a new world.

Once the island stopped moving, he knew what he had to name. So, he decided to name his island Khaliyantis. Once he named his island, Khaliya became healthy again. On this island there was grass that was a green as tree leaves and as healthy as a 5 mile walk. The water was so clear, you could see your reflection when you stepped into the water. It was so clean you could get a cup and drink the water. After they left the doctor, they both had to go and settle in because everything moved when Khaliya sneezed. She made some damages to the island, but it was okay because everyone on there were builders, and they all knew how to rebuild things. But the way that she sneezed caused the island to move to a very dark part of space. Since it was so dark, the buildings they tried to remake didn't turn out quite right, and it made everyone dark and gloomy, including King Josiah.

Queen Khaliya, on the other hand, was very bright on the inside, and she loved the way her life was. She was always trying to cheer everyone up, but it wasn't working. So she kept trying and trying and trying but it still didn't work. But she didn't stop! She said” You guys are as gloomy as the bottom part of the ocean and that's really dark!” Queen Khaliya kept trying until she ran out of breath and died. King Josiah was very sad once he lost his wife.

A couple days later, it started to become lighter in Khaliyantis. Queen Khaliya turned into the sun due to how bright she was and her good spirit. On top of that, she made it warmer on the island due to how cold it was. Now every morning, everyone takes time out of their day just for Queen Khaliya because they realized how amazing she was and how she was always trying to make everyone be happy even when they didn't have as much. Now since it is bright and warmer, the island is now back to what it use to be. The buildings are built 10 times better.

King Josiah and Queen Khaliya stacked rocks together every time they kissed. Those rocks created a mountain that holds the love of the king and queen. Now, their castle now sits on top of that mountain where the point of the castle can touch the sun, so King Josiah never feels alone. Now since Khaliya is the sun, everyone became happy and started to cheer up everyone else even though they were still sad that their queen died!

KRM. (2017) The Castle.

This is my art piece that I made. It shows you the mountains that are grey because they are made out of rocks due to the kisses they gave each other. The castle, that was rebuilt, sits on top of the biggest mountain. And the sun, Queen Khaliya, sites in the middle and is very big due to how bright and amazing she was as a person. The top of the castle is in the middle of the sun so that King Josiah never feels separated from his wife. And the blue sky is the light that Queen Khaliya gave to her people since it was really dark and gloomy.

Freedom Of Speech... But Don't Take It Too Far!!

In my Humanities Class, Policy, we finished our last term of this class. I am so happy that I was able to take this class because I now know what I want to be in life because of this class. This class helped me realized that I willIn class, we have been learning a lot about the Supreme Court and the types of power that this court has. For this AP, we had to chose a certain case and talk about how that certain case was involved with this case. I learned so much from this case because the one that I chose actually deals with my life as a teenager in school. I chose slideshow format for this AP because they help me gather more information and I actually understand the work that I am doing. We visited the Veteran's Arts Museum and it was so interesting being able to see actual clothing and letters from important wars gives you a different look on it. Activist Paper

In my elective course called Global Peace, we have been focusing on the Gandhi principles and how people use these principles throughout their lives. For the AP, we had to type a 4-6 page paper about an activist that we chose, according to a list of activist that the teacher gave us. I chose Deray Mckesson to be the activist that I wrote my paper on. The process of this paper was very interesting and intense. I felt like I was going to struggle a lot with this paper because I was nervous. Sharon helped me by giving me corrections and helping me with the guide of the paper. Once I recieved all of the corrections from Sharon and applied them to my paper, that helped me a lot and I was able to continue to work on my paper. The rubric that Sharon gave the class was extremely helpful and that helped me with knowing exactly what to put on my paper because I was confused on what to talk about with the paper especially since it is a 4-6 page paper.
